Meet Lady Hawk❤️

This beautiful girl is a Collie/mix around 45-50lb. She has had a hard start, and she needs someone who will give her time to feel safe. Lady Hawk spent months as a wandering stray down before animal control officers were finally able to catch her in a humane trap. She and her puppy were both saved, and she’s slowly learning what it finally means to be cared for and loved.

 

Lady is a sensitive, sweet girl who loves to cuddle once she knows you. But getting there takes time. Around new people, she may flatten herself to the ground, unsure of what’s going to happen. She needs a patient home with experience caring for very shy dogs, where she can settle in without pressure.

 

Lady Hawk does well with dogs and would do best with a respectful dog friend to help her feel more confident! She seems to really come alive around dogs! She’s done okay around visiting cats, though slow introductions are always recommended. She cannot live with birds or chickens because of her strong prey drive. She is also a significant flight risk. She can scale fences with ease if motivated or frightened. She must stay on leash outdoors with someone who understands how carefully she needs to be managed.

 

There’s a loving little dog underneath all that worry, and we can’t wait to see her continue to blossom and find her forever home. We are looking for someone who will take the time to know her, keep her safe, and let her learn that she can finally relax.
